Upon arrival in Poland’s capital, we will experience a miracle of reconstruction and conversion. Our sightseeing reveals Warsaw’s historical center where much of the Old Town was rebuilt after the war. Depart Warsaw and drive to Czestochowa, a city which has been for the past 600 years the principal Poland's Catholic shrine. Visit the Jasna Gora Monastery which is of religious, historical and artistic value. Tour the treasury and celebrate mass at the Shrine. Drive to the former concentration and death camp of Auschwitz–Birkenau and visit the cell where St. Maximilian Kolbe died. Proceed to Krakow, our home for the next two nights. We begin our day with a visit to the St. Mary's Church and celebrate mass at the world famous altar by Veit Stoss (in Polish Wit Stwosz). See the Old Town Market Square, the Renaissance Cloth Hall, and the Gothic Collegium Maius. Then visit the Wawel Hill with its Royal Castle & Cathedral. Drive to Wieliczka to see the oldest salt mine in Europe, a world-class tourist attraction. It is a unique place where many generations of Polish miners have created a world of underground chambers and salt lakes with richly decorated chapels, including the famous Blessed Kinga's Chapel. Depart Krakow for Prague. En route, stop at Olomouc for a short walking tour of the city. Proceed to Prague Dinner and Overnight in Prague.
Sitting on the Valtava River, Prague ranks as one of the most beautifully preserved cities in Europe. The town is famous for its Gothic and Baroque architecture. Stroll through the graceful enormity of the Prague Castle and visit St. Vitus Cathedral, Mala Strana, cross the historical Charles Bridge built in 1400 and admire its Baroque statuary. Today’s journey takes us to Austria and the city of Vienna. En route stop for a mass and visit of Melk Abbey, a village renowned for its Benedictine Abbey which was founded in 1702. One of the most splendid examples of Baroque architecture in Europe, the Abbey dominates the town from high above the Danube River. Our morning drive takes us to Salzburg where Mozart was born. Sightseeing tour will include the Cathedral, Getreidegasse pedestrian shopping street passing by Mozart birth place, Visit the Cathedral and the Benedictine Abbey. See the Hohensalzburg Medieval Fortress and across the Salzach river visit the Mirabell gardens. Continue to Oberammergau for dinner and overnight.
The entire day is devoted to attending a performance of the world famous Passion Play which is held once every ten years in this charming small Bavarian village. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau or vicinity (B, L, D)
After breakfast this morning we continue to Linderhof’s Castle - built by mad King Ludwig —a dazzling castle set high in the Bavarian Alps. Our day finishes in Munich, the largest and liveliest city in Bavaria. Our afternoon sightseeing tour of Munich includes the gothic Rathdus (town hall) with its famous glockenspiel, the awesome Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, imperial residence Alte Pinakothec and other principle places of interest. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for our return
