Travel Tips
The Relaxed Traveler
The happiest travelers are the most relaxed travelers. They go abroad with an open mind: to see new things, have new experiences in new settings, to enjoy themselves. They try to accept what the day offers with an open mind. They understand that no one has brought the rain just to spite them; no one has deliberately caused the plane or train to be late to frustrate them. A smile and sense of humor are as important as comfortable shoes perhaps more. Perfection is as rare abroad as it is at home.
You will enjoy group travel if you enjoy people and are willing to accept them as you find them. You must be willing to be part of the group and go along with the group. It cannot be bent to your whims, preferences, or prejudices. Group-sharing of travel experiences is rewarding in a very special way. Many close friendships have developed on tours.
If you must have your own way and will accept things only on your own terms, group travel is probably not for you. Rather than risk your own happiness and the happiness of the others in the group, you would be well-advised to choose travel on an individual basis. Remember, it is possible for a group to isolate a person it considers uncooperative or incompatible, but it is not possible for an individual member of a tour to isolate the group!
