How to Pack

Pack in layers – start with the heavy and odd-shaped items. Fill in any empty spaces with small objects. Then work up to the top finishing up with the lightest items.

If you are traveling with a companion, we recommend that you pack one to two outfits in each other's luggage. This helps to protect you in the event that one of your bags is lost or delayed so that you will have a change of clothing. We also suggest that you pack a change of clothes in your carry on for this same purpose.

For practical purposes, one standard-sized suitcase (25"/28" Pullman or two-suiter), plus an overnight case or bag is usually sufficient. Your bag should be strongly built, with reliable locks, durable, and light in weight. Put your name and address on the inside as well as the outside of your luggage.
