Dear Creative Travel Partners:
Hi, Larry, Vicki & Mira:
It was a very good trip. The biggest problem was the HEAT. It was in the 90’s every day and every body sweat hard. It took the wind out of many sails but did not interfere with having a good time. Our two hotels were very good. Rooms were nice, meals were excellent, and service was good.
The Euro was an extreme high against our dollar, and the exchange rate was 1.47 as of today. Which added a lot more costs for lunches and gifts. At the hotel in Athens I sent 4 regular sport shirts to the laundry to be cleaned and the bill came back—$55 USD for four shirts! That is not a misprint!
Our guides were very good. Most of the Greek guides I have had in the past could not speak understandable English but we had a very good, older lady, who spoke good English. I am coming up on my 80th birthday and am asking myself the question as to how many more of these trips I can do!! I am getting pressure to do another trip to Israel and I am keeping that one in mind for the moment. I would like to do Ireland and Scotland again, but I suspect they are going to be on the Euro by that time. I don’t want to go where that exchange is involved. I might be interested in Russia again, too.
Give me some ideas.
Thanks for another good trip.
