Dear Mira, Vicki, and Larry:
The general feeling of the travelers
who made this trek was that it was fantastic. We have been very
pleased with the services provided
by Creative Travel in the past, and that positive feeling continues.
I sat down with my two faculty leaders to review the trip in detail,
and here are just a few of their comments:
Personal Favorite Sites:
Rick – Robert Owen Museum and Glastonbury
Brian – Coventry Cathedral and the British Library
Delta Airlines
Service:
The direct service from Cincinnati to London makes all the difference
in the world for the traveler. Dealings with the airline were uneventful – in
my mind that makes them very positive.
Motor coaches:
The motor coaches the group used were very nice.
Primary Guide:
Charles Dones was the primary guide for the group and he did an
outstanding job. He went the extra mile time and time again for
the group. This was seen in his preparation for requested sites
that are off the beaten path, personal day off arrangements for
group members, knowledge of the sites and an ability to communicate
that knowledge, and just a friendly and helpful personality. The
group would recommend him to anyone. Please pass this on to Trafalgar
if possible.
Drivers:
The primary driver for the group was named John Tweedle. He was
friendly, helpful and a good driver. That is all we ask.
Secondary
Guide:
The group had a woman by the name of Marion in London. She did
a very nice job, but the consensus was that Charles was hard to
beat. She had a hard act to follow, especially with Charles joining
them – which was very much appreciated.
Secondary Driver:
For two days the group had Peter as their driver. Once again he
did a very nice job.
Hotels:
In Britain you never know what you are going to get, but the group
was very pleased with the accommodations and locations of those
accommodations.
Sites to be added in the future that were not on
the schedule:
The Chalace Well in Glastonbury should be on the itinerary, though
Charles made arrangements for the group to visit. A number of sites,
such as the Coventry Cathedral were added during the tour – this
was a very nice touch.
If we do this same trip again, I would change:
More advertising on the CBC & S end of things and a bigger
push for students to take the trip for credit.
Did we prepare the
group adequately for the trip?
Warmer clothing should have been emphasized on our end. A bigger
push for participants to get money exchanged prior to departure,
and an overemphasizing of the physical demands during the trip.
Great
job Creative Travel, Inc.. See you for Israel/Jordan!
