Inside Passage Cruise

DAY 1 – BEGIN WITH VANCOUVER, B.C.
This spirited, cosmopolitan city is well worth a stopover, before or after your cruise. It's rich in culture and exotic cuisine, and famously scenic – laced with rivers and inlets, bordered by the Pacific and backdropped to the north by peaks of the Coast Range.

DAY 2 – THE INSIDE PASSAGE LURES YOU ON
For a whole day, you cruise this enchanted waterway, and each vista surpasses the one before. Your ship threads her sure course past forests, islands and inlets, surrounded by silence. You glimpse a deep fjord penetrating the wilderness. Far to the east the sun glints on snowcapped peaks. An incredible voyage.

DAY 3 – JUNEAU, YOUR FIRST PORT
Alaska's scenic capital has a Gold Rush story to rival that of the Klondike. Drop in at the Red Dog Saloon, visit the fascinating Alaska State Museum. Or opt for sea kayaking or a wildlife cruise, salmon fishing or fly fishing. Tour to Juneau's own glacier, Mendenhall, just out of town.

DAY 4 – SKAGWAY, WHERE THE GOLD RUSH BEGAN
We're proud to introduce Skagway to our cruise guests during this centennial year of the Gold Rush. Here, at the very end of the Inside Passage, Skagway was the turbulent staging point for prospectors hell-bent on getting to the Klondike. Go ashore and celebrate the centennial along with just about everybody in town. Stroll weathered boardwalks and drop in at old-time saloons, shop for gold nuggets. Opt for a ride in a vintage parlor car up the historic White Pass & Yukon Route, and see traces of the rugged Trail of '98. Take in the hilarious Days of '98 show.

DAY 5 – AND NOW, GLACIER BAY
Midpoint in your cruise, your ship enters a bay sheltered by lushly forested slopes. As you cruise over the quiet waters, forests give way to a rugged landscape, rising to jagged, rocky peaks. Like frozen rivers, glaciers flow from the heights to the iceberg-strewn waters of the bay. Watch, awestruck, as a pinnacle of ice cracks off the glacial cliff and crashes into the sea. Wildlife is abundant, and the National Park Service Rangers who have joined us help you spot it. Harbor seals sun on an iceberg. Mountain goats are spied, high on the cliffs. You might see a humpback whale breaching, a school of leaping orcas. Maybe a black bear scavenging along the shore. Birds are everywhere, from red-footed pigeon guillemots paddling around an island to gulls screaming overhead.

DAY 6 – ON TO KETCHIKAN
Sailing south, we pause at picturesque Ketchikan, where the harbor shelters fishing boats and seaplanes. We offer many options. At Totem Bight State Park, walk through the forest to a replica of a Tlingit Indian village. Visit Totem Heritage Cultural Center, home to Alaska's largest collection of original totems. Go flight-seeing to Misty Fjords National Monument, with its sheer rock walls and limpid waters. Ketchikan's shops overflow with native crafts and original souvenirs to remind you of your Alaska adventure for years to come.

DAY 7 – REPRISE THE INSIDE PASSAGE / DISEMBARK / TOUR ENDS
Get a new perspective on this lovely waterway as you sail homeward on your elegant ship. Transfer to the Vancouver airport, tour's end.
